(4:00 PM) Today marks the sixth day of school that our students have missed due to the state of emergency. Our team here has just learned this morning that we are now operating with a "stay-at-home" order in the state of Michigan. That order extended the school closure for an extra week, placing it at April 13th.
At this time, we are planning to maintain our food deliveries as scheduled. Any changes to our delivery system will be blasted out to the community via text and social media. As you may have heard Friday, the Governor confirmed that work done by students at home during the closure will not count as instructional time. Please remember that the enrichment packets that were delivered last week are not mandatory and will not impact your student's grade. We also learned the the U.S. Department of Education has waived the testing requirements for this year, allowing our schools suspend spring testing for students.
Please check back daily for updated information due to the Governor's new orders. We will see all of you soon.
Sincerely,
Bill Kerr
-Superintendent
